We haven’t really said much about it on the blog but most that know us know that we recently bought a house in Catonsville, MD. We closed on the house Thursday mid day (finished up around 1:00 PM) and headed back to our old house to pick up the truck we had loaded the night before and headed to the new house to start unloading.
We had spent the weeks leading up to closing getting a head start on packing but I think I underestimated just how arduous and time consuming the move would be. It didn’t help that we got stuck with a 16′ truck as opposed to the 24′ truck I had reserved >:XX.
We spent pretty much of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday driving back and forth between the 2 houses and loading and unloading the truck. Its basically a 3 story house (4 if you count the unfinished basement) the bedrooms are all upstairs and the finished attic space is being used as the computer room (both gaming PCs and office space) so there was a lot of lugging furniture and boxes up multiple flights of stairs which really wore me out.
On Sunday Shay headed over to the old house to do some cleaning and gather up the remaining odds and ends that were still there while I started on getting the computer room all set up.
Monday we got a little bit of a breather in the morning but then started up again with the unpacking in the afternoon. Yesterday I spent most of the day supervising the Verizon tech that was doing the Fios install and then spent the evening relaxing with a bit of TV and some surfing of the interwebs.

We’re actually right off the main drag in the historic district of Catonsville so we have plenty of places that we can walk/ride to and we’re really excited about being somewhere with a bit more character.
I’m about to take advantage of the lapse in rain and ride up to Appalachian Bluegrass to see about getting one of my acoustics prepared. I might check out a few of the other local shops while I’m at it but there’s no rush since we’ll be here for awhile.

We have some photos we took back when we first looked at the house and I’ll try and come back later to upload a few of them. We won’t be posting any photos with our stuff in it until we get some painting done.
